When you’ve been running errands on foot for FitBit-verified 5+ miles, your stomach is empty, and all that’s nearby are sit-down restaurants and the usual fast food culprits, seeing a food truck feels a little like this:
That happened to me the other day when I was fortunate enough to stumble across the
Papaya King hot dog truck on 6th Avenue and 21st Street outside of Trader Joe’s where I
was meeting a friend. We were picking up ingredients to make cauliflower crust pizza (it’s amazing), but I was starving.
The Papaya King serves up hot dogs with a delicious smorgasbord of toppings. The toppings were top-quality
with some unexpected options. I chose:
- Bacon (and I got a whole, thick slice!)
- Pickled jalapeño peppers
- Crispy fried onions (alla French’s)
- Mustard
- The hot itself dog was juicy and delicious, too. All around goodness. Check them out if you find them!
